Many countries have very poor attendance in their schools, mostly because of transportation. You are very fortunate in our public school system to have free busing.

Today think about your attendance.

Do you feel your attendance effects your grades at Dirksen?

Kind of, I mean if you miss school for a month or two yes, but if it's a few days, no.

No poor attendance does not affect grades in my opinion. If your are at school and you are using that time wisely and getting great grades then there is no problem.

MattMessiJr 8B said...

Yes because you can miss notes which could affect your test grade.

I feel my attendance does effects my grades at Dirksen because if I don't come to school I can't do my work or it's due late and I get a bad grade.

I feel my attendance does not effect my grades at school. I feel this way because I've been late before and I've been absent, and it doesn't effect my grade.

Yes, I do think missing school affects your grades. You miss a lot when you don't go, so you miss a lot of learning. And, you kind of have to learn whatever was taught on the day you missed, on your own.

I think that attendece affects my grade because if they teach something you don't know then you might fail an important test.

I feel that attendance does effect your grades because if you miss a week of school you have to make up late assignments.

In my opinion i think that the attendance does effect grades because in case u missed classes and those day homework u were given then grades will not rise for no homework.

Not if you miss a day or two , but more then a week may affet your grade's because of class assignments your not doing.

Yes if you miss school days than it will effect your grades becuase if miss out on what that day you were suppost to do and learn.

I do think that your attendance affects your grades because if you do not show up to school you won't be able to learn new stuff and when you come back to take the test on the material, you would fail.

Poor attendance doesn't affect your grades because you can always catch up on what you missed. If you have good grades then there would be no problem.

In my opinion not really because if you miss a couple days of school then it's not a problem, but if you miss school for like a month then it's a huge problem.

I think poor attendance does affect your grades because you miss out on some things in school. For example I was absent Friday due to a field trip for All City and in math we took tests and reviewed for a lot of things and I missed out on that kind of stuff and I probably didnt do as well on the test as I should have.

Kaprice G 7B said...

Yes because you miss alot of things that you should be learning but at the same time you cant get caught up on it .

Kacey S 7B said...

Yes I believe attendance effects your grade becuase if you dont show up you miss assignments and you can miss notes for the test or something. If you miss an assignment anywyas it goes in the grade book as a zero. Thats why I always try to go to school if I am not feeling well becase grades follow you through your whole education.

TorrieW.7B said...

Kind of because I dont really like riding the bus but it gets me where I need to go.

ALEXIS'' 7B said...

Yes because if you do not show up to school you won't be able to learn the new subject you're supposed to learn and when you have to take the test on the material that you missed, you will not know what to do and bomb the test. (._____.)

Erika D 7B said...

I think that it all depends on the person because if they miss a week and don't try to get all there work they miss and they don't understand the work then yes it does affect it.But if they get all there work and understand and ask for help then no it doesn't affect there grades.

@|i$$@.E 7b said...

no, I dont really think that poor atendence ruins my grades because if you miss school teachers just make you redo every thing. But then again you could be behind if you were absent to long and you try to do every thing but you just can't cause it is to much.

I think attendance does effect your grade at Dirksen because if you are not there that one day and that one day you are doing an important lesson you miss the lesson, and you probably fail the test.

Yes because every assignment you miss you get a zero.

Deericka M 7B said...

I think attendance does not effect your grades because,if you are at school everyday you can choose to not do your work and get a baad grade but if you are absent you come to school the next day make up yor work you missed.
