I think that it is better to have more than one friend because they can all help you when you need more than one.
I personally think that it is better to have just 1 friend because if you have a lot of friends then you get pulled into all the drama that is started. But some people might have a different opinion.

I think it better to have a lot of friends than just one best friend. That way you know that they have your back and there's always that one special friend that knows more about you than all the rest of your friends. With more friends you won't look like an outcast and people won't look down on you. There is still that one friend that's above all the others.
I think it's better to have multiple friends. If you only have one friend it would be hard to develope important social skills you'll need for work or life. If you only have one friend you may not develope these important skills. If you only have one friend something might happen to them and you'd be left with no one. I think it's better to have more then one friend but you do have to make sure those multiple friends are quality friends that you can trust. So, this is why I think it's better to have a lot of friends over one best friend.
