We are called the Dirksen Senators in honor of our Illinois former Senator Dirksen. He was a very tall , well respected political man. He was also known to have a very calming voice. His last name was Dirksen that is why he is our school mascot.Imagine that you have been selected to choose your new Dirksen school mascot. What would you choose? Explain why your idea is a good choice for our school.
