On this day in 1955 Rosa Parks decided after a long day of work to take the bus home. There were no seats in the back of the bus so Rosa sat right down in the front. A white man told her to get up, Rosa said my feet hurt, in a very polite manner. Rosa was then driven to the police station by the bus driver and Rosa Parks arrested.

I wouldn't do the same thing. I know how the times were but at the time it just wasn't the thing I would do.

No. I would have just up and moved to the back. The only this hated about the whole bus thing was that they would make the blacks stand or get of and whites had the right of way. Standing and moving to the back is just and inconvenience not really an issue. I don't really understand why it was such a huge issue.

Shes really brave there was a lot of racial tension then and the little inconvenient law was the way to break the ice for other blacks to be thought as real people and for blacks to start standing out for what they thought was right for them.
