Nobel Peace Prize

Today is the Nobel Peace Prize Day. Alfred Nobel invented dynamite. He hated that dynamite became such a big part of our wars and caused injury and death. He then wanted this day to honor those that lead PEACE in our country. Nobel wanted something good to be remembered by him and not the dynamite. Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa, and President Obama are a few of the winners of the Nobel Peace Prize.

Rosa Parks

Rosa Parks was a woman in 1955 who decided to break the LAW. Rosa had worked a long day and was tired. She boarded the bus and decided she would sit in the front of the bus and not the back as blacks were told to do. Rosa was then driven to the police station and arrested for breaking the law.

Rosa Parks

On this day in 1955 Rosa Parks decided after a long day of work to take the bus home. There were no seats in the back of the bus so Rosa sat right down in the front. A white man told her to get up, Rosa said my feet hurt, in a very polite manner. Rosa was then driven to the police station by the bus driver and Rosa Parks arrested.
1. Pretend today that you are Rosa Parks. You worked all day and are tired. What will you do? Would you break the law? How would you describe Rosa Parks?
