I was outside jumping on the trampoline when all of a sudden I felt an urge to go inside and play on Xbox Live.

I finally figured out how it broke, someone dented one of the springs while they were jumping.So, when I was jumping the spring fell off and it was harder to hold the trampoline in place with one spring missing.
