The Need for Speed
Speed Limits
In Germany did you know that cars can drive as fast as they want? There is no speed limits in Germany, you can drive from 40 mph or 140 mph, do you think we should be able to do that in the United States?
1. Explain why we need or don't need to have speed limits on our highways in the US?
all answers must be appropriate.

We need speed limits because it saves people.
I think we need speed limits in the United States because i we did not have speed limits then there would be alot more accidents.
We need speed limits in the U.S. because then everyone will be going as fast as they want. About 75% of the time there will be crashes and everything will not run smoothly.=]
We need speed limits so people won't be in excedents when they are driving.
If we didn't have any speed limits, then we would all get into crashes. Then, we would all end up daed or in the hospital.
I thank that we need a speed limit, cause we have alot of people who are dangerious and drive fast. If we change our speed limit then we have alot of accidents.

I think that we the people in the united states need a speed limit so that there is less crashes for like when like old people are driving they wont get hit by some one going super fast and they should also raise the minimum because thats how somecrashes happen.
We need speed limits because then people will be safe from crazy drunks who can not handle drinking and driving.
I think that we do need speed limits because if we dont have speed limits everyone would be speeding and alot of people would crash into each other.Also if we didn't have it in the winter there would be so many accidents. And more people would die each year.

and also they can get hurt
We already have speed limits and people do not follow them so I think it doesn't make a difference. It will not matter if the speed limit is 25mph or not people will still get hurt.

No I don't because some streets are to little and there are to many cars.
i dont think that we should have no speed limits like Germany because there is enough deaths by drunk driving with a speed limit. so i think we should keep our speed limit.
i think that we need speed limits so that we do not get in that many crashes. some of those crashes will even lead to death
I think we shouldn't be able to drive as fast as we want because if we are drunk or high people will crash and can not only hurt themselves but hurt others.

I Want people to drive more than 140 because if a woman is going to have a baby how are they going to get to the hispital in time before the baby is born.

No, I tink that we should have speed limits, because what if one car is going 20 m.p.h and another truck is going 80 m.p.h. Then they could crash and want to sue. Thats a great example of a reason why we should have speed limits...
