Here is my personification poem I wrote after my mother past away from Leukemia:
"Cancer"
I see Cancer clearly.
It is standing along the sidelines,
watching,
looking for its next victim.
It's face is pale and body weak;
however, its eyes are glowing green with the ability to see through society's social classes.
It smells damp-
Feels cold-
Has the ability to regenerate.
Be cautious of Cancer for it strikes without warning...
One cannot hear it whisper their name-
Shh...
I hear something...

"Joy"
I saw Joy clearly.
He was smiley and very polite.
He turned gingerly and walked towards me cleanly and gracefully.
I saw his great ocean-like eyes that seemed to conjoin perfectly with is tan skin.
I heard him say melodious things to me
And I felt calm and warm.
So you can see, the poetry shell has a lot to offer. You can really expand on this poem like I did or just do a fill in like TJ. Either way, you'll come up with a great poem!

“Depression”
I saw depression clearly,
She was standing there waiting to pounce
On my happiness,
She turned and said “no more real smiles here comes
The fake smiles and the all the tears”,
I saw her red and puffy eyes and her scarred skin,
I heard her say “I’m sorry it had to end this way but you
Can thank your past for this”,
And I felt like my smile turned to a frown,
My sunshine just wasn’t shining any more,
That the birds were not singing at loud,
My night sky became darker.
That’s when I realized that depression
Got the best of me.
"Gloomy Death"
I saw the gloomy light of Death clearly.
It was deep and dark.
It had turned to show all the pain.
I saw its pitch black and red eyes and its skin covered in shame and disgrace.
I heard it say,
"This is for all the sadness in the world."
And I felt sick to my stomach all hurt in the end.
"School"
I saw school clearly.
She was lifeless...boring.
She turned kids into homework zombies.
She smelled of cruddy school food and her skin was a brown graffiti stained brick.
She made me feel as if life as I knew it was destroyed.
"Optimism"
I saw Optimism clearly, standing tall through the clouds
She was looking towards the mountains;
Not concerned with the worldly pessismists...
She turned towards me and smiled awkwardly, but powerully.
I saw her golden eyes shining with a thousand crystals. Her skin was almond colored, glowing brilliantly.
I heard her whistle a sweet harmony that was liquid honey to my newly-opened ears. She was so carefree.
I felt elated, nothing could bring me down...

It was covered with a black sheet.
Then it turn facing me,it showed feared to me.

Then out of a sudden the darkness becamealittle bit of light,that was when I saw it's hands they didn't have skin.

She was giving me a painful look,
She turned to hit me, but she stopped right away,I saw her blood shot eyes and her skin crispy brown, I heard her say "Things will never change",

She turned around and i seen her stress,
eyes and face and skin looking so sad and depressed,

and I felt hurt inside because I know how she felt being stressed because i was stressed.

Friends are like sisters,

When I blinked my eyes, he was gone.
For about 3 seconds, I had my eyes shut tight.
I felt stiff.
I felt like I couldn't move.

You wouldn't believe what I saw when I open them-

Suddently, I felt cold.
Once again, I felt a tear coming from down my face, but not just any

I saw happyness clearly with my eye's she turned and started smiling and laghing as if she was happy, then she terned and started walking and laghing at the same time. I saw her at the cafeterea happy with a big smile, her eyes told me that she was happy. I heard her say that happyness was contages, but I didn't bealeve her but then in seconds I started laghing, smiling I was happy.

I saw dishearten clearly.
She slumped into her chair and turned toward me to stare with the cold, black, emotionless eyes. After she had me trapped in her gaze she said "There is no real happiness, all the smiles disappear as quickly as they come."
My face flushed white and I turned at her with a cold stare. The more I thought about it, the more I became like her...dishearten. All happiness washed out of my body and ai that moment I knew that I was dishearten too.

She is standing far away.
She turned and looked at me waiting for me to pursuit her.
I see her beautiful purple eyes and her gleaming skin.
I heard her say, "Don't let anyone tell you, you can't do something."
And so I felt that I must be strong and Must be ready in the Pursuit of Happyness.

I saw Happiness clearly.
He was watching me...

Knowing I have sadness in my heart.
He turned and came towards me.

I heard him say,"Live your life right, and everything will be full of happiness."
